Choosing the perfect photo for 3D
Most photos are not created with 3D in mind, and not every image will work well as a piece of 3D wall art. We recommend you follow our handy guide to check whether your chosen photo is suitable. The key things to consider are:
Good depth of field
Photos with objects in the foreground and background will work well.
Well defined background
Plain or blurry backgrounds are not ideal. Have clear identifiable features in the background.
Object in focus
Ensure your whole photo is in focus or, at the very least, that the principal subject is sharp.
Good lighting
Too many dark or black areas reduces the 3D effect. This includes silhouettes.
Good contrast
Bright and colourful photos give the very best results.
Things to avoid
We do not recommend borders, text, logos or clip art.
